A man in his 20's has died in the front country hills in Santa Barbara after a fall estimated to be 50-100 feet from the Gibraltar Rock area.
The site is popular for hikers and rock climbers. The fall occurred Wednesday night around 6 p.m.
The circumstances of the fall are not known at this time.
Rescue efforts included resources from Santa Barbara City, Montecito Fire, CalStar and the CHP A rope system was used to hoist the victim out of a tight canyon.
The identity of the deceased man has not been released.
