The Big West Conference says it will be cancelling its fall competitions.
That means no cross-country or soccer for either men or women, and no women's indoor volleyball for the 2020-2021 academic year.
There are ongoing coronavirus related health and safety challenges facing Big West campuses and communities, and resources are being directed toward those efforts instead.
The Big West said having the competitions would not be in the best interests of the athletes and coaches.
This cancellation is not affecting men's or women's basketball, however, which is taking place currently.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo will be affected by some of the cancellations, but their football team is in the Big Sky Conference, which is still scheduled to kick off in February of next year.
