Central Coast Jail Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus

San Luis Obispo County is reporting its first positive coronavirus case at its jail.  A San Luis Obispo County jail employee who had just returned from vacation began developing symptoms at work earlier this week.  The employee was sent home.

Jail staff members who were in contact with the employee were notified, and some areas of the jail are quarantined.  San Luis Obispo County health officials believe the worker was infected in the community, and not at the jail.

The county jail has had one of the best coronavirus safety records in the state.  No inmates have tested positive, and this was the first jail employee to test positive for the virus.
