Santa Barbara County firefighters have fully contained a brush fire in the Santa Ynez Valley which at one point prompted an evacuation order for some Valley residents.
The blaze was discovered just after 3 p.m. Saturday near Baseline Avenue and View Drive. That's a hilly area northeast of the intersection of Highways 154 and 246. Some ranches and homes in the area received evacuation orders.
Santa Barbara County firefighters hit the fire hard with air tankers, helicopter water drops and ground crews. They were able to protect the structures in the area, and contain the fire to 45 acres burned. It was declared contained just after 5 p.m., less than two hours after it was first reported. There's no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
