The state had dropped its COVID-19 stay at home orders, returning to a county-by-county tier system which potentially sets the stage for some reopenings. State officials say they are seeing enough improvement in key areas like hoospitalizations to justify the move.
Bease on their continuing high number of new cases and other key data, the move puts Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties back in the most restrictive purple tier.
That tier allows restaurants to offer outdoor service, and personal services like hair and nail salons to operate with health precautions in place. But, each county has the option to keep restrictions in place if they feel it's still too soon to allow reopenings.
Ventura and Santa Barbara County officials have told KCLU News they are reviewing the situation now, and expect to make announcements later in the day Monday.
