Cal Lutheran Announces It Will Start Fall Semester With Online Only Classes Due To Coronavirus

A South Coast university has announced its fall semester will begin completely online as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

Cal Lutheran had hoped to have some in-person classes.  But, university officials say the state hasn’t even issued health safety guidelines yet for reopening.

Campuses are still operating under shutdown restrictions issued by the governor in March.  Universities and colleges can’t reopen until the state reaches the Stage 3 reopening level, and California has been stuck at versions of Stage 2 for months.

Cal Lutheran officials say if conditions improve during the course of the semester, they will add in-person classes if allowed to do so.  Cal Lutheran is the parent of KCLU Radio.
