Brush Fire Which Forced Thousands Of Evacuations In Eastern Ventura County Now 100% Contained

The Easy brush fire in Ventura County was fully contained on Sunday, five days after it started

What was called the “Easy” brush fire in Ventura County is now fully contained. The nearly 1900 acre blaze started near Easy Street in Simi Valley last Tuesday, and burned south towards Thousand Oaks. Thousands of people had to be evacuated.

At one point, it burned to within a few hundred feet of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, but the facility was undamaged. An army of firefighters stopped the flames before they could spread into neighborhoods.

The fire was 100% contained on Sunday. Two homes were lost. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
