Santa Ana winds continue to remain a major issue for firefighters in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Friday morning, with a Red Flag Warning still in effect for high brush fire danger. We could see wind in the 35 to 55 miles an hour on the coast and for inland areas, with gusts approaching 65 miles an hour in the mountains.
The wind is expected to ease Friday afternoon. But, the Red Flag Warning will remain in effect through the day, because the heat and low humidity will keep fire conditions high.
Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties are also facing an elevated brush fire risk, but the wind isn’t expected to reach Red Flag Warning levels Friday.
