Brush Fire Disrupts Traffic On Highway 101 On Central Coast

A brush fire burning on the Central Coast has closed Highway 101 outside of Buellton

Traffic on a section of Highway 101 on the Central Coast has been disrupted as the result of a brush fire. Santa Barbara County firefighters say the blaze is burning in a rural area of the county outside of Buellton, off of the 101 between Highways 154 and 246.  It was discovered at around 3:30 Monday afternoon.

Aircraft have been called in to help fight the fire.

Firefighters sat the blaze has the potential to grow to several hundred acres. As of 5 p.m., it was reported to be more than 150 acres.  

The northbound 101 has been closed between Highways 154 and 246.
