The statistics being released by health officials in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties show that coronavirus has spread to most communities in the region. It started a few weeks ago with scattered breakouts. Now, it seems like it’s showed up just about everywhere on the Central and South Coasts.
Ventura County stands at 109 diagnosed cases, with four deaths.
Simi Valley has 20 diagnosed cases, Camarillo is at 19, and both Oxnard and Thousand Oaks stand at 15. Ventura has 11, and Moorpark 7. It’s showing up in lesser degrees in other communities. Westlake Village and Oak Park each have 6. Port Hueneme, Ojai, and Lake Sherwood have two confirmed cases each, and Oak View has one.
In Santa Barbara County, the 68 confirmed cases include 25 in Santa Barbara, 20 in Santa Maria and 9 in the Carpinteria/Summerland and Montecito areas. There are 5 in Orcutt, 2 in Lompoc, 2 in the Santa Ynez Valley, and two in the unincorporated areas of Northern Santa Barbara County.
