With Cachuma Lake at 50 percent capacity due to strong winter rains, officials say there's time now to consider their next move.
These include conservation plans for the future, different water supply options, and what to do with equipment used when the lake levels were extremely low.
A special barge had been brought in to move water from the deepest parts of the lake back to the Tecolote tunnel via special pipeline.
The tunnel serves a number of south coast communities, including Montecito, Goleta, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria.
The water agencies will have to decide whether to remove that special barge, or store it and rent it in the future.
The cost for that could be two million dollars.
