Bill Co-Authored By Ventura County Congresswoman To Help Some Veterans With Jobs Signed Into Law

The President has signed into law a bill co-authored by a Ventura County legislator intended to improve job training programs for homeless veterans.

The legislation eliminates a loophole which prevented some homeless veterans getting federal housing assistance from being eligible for federal job training programs.

Before the change, once the veterans moved into the housing, they were considered to be ineligible for the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program.

Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village co-authored the legislation with Republican Congressman Brad Wenstrup of Ohio.
