Arrest Made In More Than Decade Old Open Murder Case In Ventura County

Detectives had made an arrest in a more than decade old murder case in Ventura County.

On November 13th, 2005 Joaquin Castaneda was found shot to death on the 900 block of Richmond Avenue in Oxnard. Investigators weren’t sure what led to the killing, but found evidence indicating it might be linked to a string of robberies in the city that week.

Over the years, detectives worked to gather evidence and find potential witnesses to the killing of the 48 year old Oxnard man.

This week, they arrested Isaac Sinsun of Oxnard for the killing, and say additional arrests are expected.
