Another South Coast Community Pulls Plug On Fourth Of July Celebration Because Of Coronavirus

The coronavirus crisis has led to the cancellation of yet another major Fouth of July event on the South Coast.

Organizers pulled the plug on the 2020 Goleta Fireworks Festival.  The festival has been hosted by two Rotary clubs in Goleta for decades.

All of the festival activities have been cancelled for 2020.  They traditionally have included live entertainment, activities for kids, food trucks, and of course a fireworks show.

Organizers say they tried to see if they could do a modified event with no in-person attendance, but decided it wasn’t feasible.  They say they plan to bring the event back in 2021.
