The Amgen Tour of California has announced that 36 cycling teams from around the world will take place in the 2016 competition this spring.
The race is the largest in the U.S., and will cover about 800 miles of the state when it takes place May 15th-22nd. It attracts some of the world's top professional cyclists, with and eight day men's race, and a four day women's race.
The internationally televised event will feature two stages on the Central and South Coasts, with one leg from Thousand Oaks to Santa Barbara, and another from Morro Bay to Monterey County. It attracts tens of thousands of cycling fans to the region.
