Amid the shutdown of Highway 101 Saturday in Montecito due to the weather, an internationally recognized actor was one of those affected.
Viggo Mortensen was stuck on the other side of the 101 as he tried to make it to the Arlington Theatre for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's Riviera Award.
He couldn't get through, even via side-roads, because of the the mud.
The solution arrived via social media, when the owner of Santa Barbara Aviation, Max Rosenberg, found out.
He said he could get Mortensen on a Cessna CitationJet and worked out a plan with a flight support company to get fuel, while the fees at the Camarillo airport were waived as well.
Mortensen was picked up with his group, and arrived before three in the afternoon.
