88,000 Power Customers On South Coast Facing Potential Safety Cutoffs; 4,700 Already Impacted

The wind prompted Southern California Edison to pull the plug on power to more than 4700 customers in Ventura County, as part of efforts to prevent power lines from accidentally starting a brush fire. Some people in the Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Santa Paula, and Ventura areas were among those impacted by Public Safety Power Shutoffs Thursday night.

The number of customers who are on the potential shutoff list expanded Thursday to 88,000 in the county.

There are no potential shutoffs proposed in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
