75+ Micro Earthquakes Rock South Coast; Largest Magnitude 3.6 in Ocean West Of Ventura

Map of Friday's magnitude 3.6 quake off Ventura, and where people reported feeling it

A string of small earthquakes continues to rock the South Coast, with more than 75 taking place since early Thursday morning. The strongest of the quakes was a magnitude 3.6 temblor which occurred at 5:29 a.m. Friday. Five of the quakes have been magnitude 3 or greater.

But, most of them have been so small that people haven’t felt them. They’ve been centered in the Pacific Ocean about three miles west of Ventura. There have been no reports of injuries or damage, but they have rattled some nerves.
