17 Year Old Arrested For Fatal Attack On Transient On South Coast

Detectives have arrested a teenager for a brutal attack which led to the death of a transient in Ventura County. It happened June 24th in Oxnard. Police were called to the 200 block of West Vineyard Avenue by reports of a man covered in blood. They found Charles Barber with multiple stab wounds.

Despite efforts to save him, the 34 year old man died a short time later at a hospital. After talking to numerous people, Oxnard Police detectives identified a 17 year old boy as a suspect.

The teen was arrested Sunday. He’s being held at Ventura County Juvenile Hall in lieu of $500,000 bail.
