132 Additional Coronavirus Cases Reported On Central, South Coasts

While the number of new coronavirus cases has been surging in other parts of the country, the numbers on the Central and South Coasts continue to skew on the low side.

132 additional cases were reported Wednesday, with 60 in Ventura County, 23 in Santa Barbara County, and 49 in San Luis Obispo County.  28,373 have been documented in the region since the start of the pandemic.

Health officials in the region are hoping to keep the new case numbers low enough so the three counties can get state approval for more reopenings.

One additional coronavirus related death was reported yesterday, bringing the three-county total to 324.  Ventura County had the latest death, for 166 overall.  Santa Barbara County has had 126 deaths, and San Luis Obispo County 32.
