Man Gets Seven Year State Prison Sentence For Fatal Stabbing At South Coast Shopping Center

A Ventura County man received a seven year state prison sentence for a fatal stabbing at a shopping center.

Andrew Rodriguez became involved in an argument with Alexander Benavidez in Oxnard.  Ventura County prosecutors say the argument turned violent, with Rodriguez fatally stabbing Benavidez.

The 38-year-old Oxnard man pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the March 2020 killing, setting the stage for Monday’s sentencing.
