Police Officers Have Close Call On South Coast As Car Slams Into Patrol Units

Some police officers arriving at the scene of a shooting on the South Coast were lucky to escape injury.  But, it wasn’t gunfire which created the danger.  It was a speeding car.

Santa Barbara Police officers were called to the intersection of Arrellaga and Castillo Streets just after nine Monday night.  They found evidence that shots had been fire, but no one was there.

As they were investigating, a car slammed into two parked police patrol vehicles.  Fortunately, no one was hurt.  Officer say they arrested Jacob Milem on a DUI charge.
