Ventura County Man Gets Four Consecutive Life Sentences For Attacks On Law Eforcement Officers

A Ventura County man has been sentenced to four consecutive life sentences, plus 145 years in state prison for a countywide shooting rampage which targeted law enforcement officers.

Augustine Medina was convicted of a string of incidents at five different spots in Ventura County. A number of law enforcement patrol units were hit by his gunfire, but fortunately officers involved in the confrontations and car chases were unhurt.

The now 55-year-old Oxnard man was convicted of four attempted murder charges involving Oxnard Police officers and Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies.  He was also convicted of five additional felony charges for the 2011 rampage.
