An injured owl is getting some TLC from a Ventura County animal rescue group

An injured owl is getting some help thanks to police and an animal rescue group in Ventura County.

Santa Paula Police responded to a call of an "owl down."  An injured Great Horned owl was found in a Santa Paula neighborhood.  The injured bird was taken to the Raptor Center in Ojai, which helps injured birds.

Officials with the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center say the bird had a broken wing.  It also had a high level of lead in its bloodstream, possibly from being hit by a BB.  The bird is being treated for both issues, and is recovering well.
