Firefighters Knock Down Brush Fire On Central Coast

A brush fire burned more than a dozen acres of land on the Central Coast Saturday, but no structures were damaged.

Firefighters aided by helicopters and air tanker knocked down a wildfire burning on the Central Coast Saturday.  The blaze was spotted just before 2 p.m. Saturday in a rural area southeast of Santa Maria, near Foxen Canyon Road.

The fire grew to just over a dozen acres before its growth was stopped at around 5 p.m.  No structures were damaged.  There's no word on the cause of the blaze.
