Ventura County Equipping Sheriff's Patrol Units With Distinctive Sirens For Use In Evacuations

VCSO_0.JPEG

Ventura County now has a new way of letting people know they have to evacuate during an emergency like a wildfire or flash flooding.

Starting this week, people could hear a different siren only used to notify people of evacuations.

A new state law authorizes the use of the European-style high-low sirens.

All 130 units in the Sheriff’s Office fleet will be equipped with the evacuation sirens by the end of this week.
