Red Flag Warning For High Brush Fire Danger In Santa Barbara, Ventura County Mountains

Red Flag warnings have been issued for potentially dangerous brush fire conditions in Santa Barbara and Ventura County mountains.  The warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Monday for mountains on Santa Barbara County's South Coast.  Ventura County's mountains have a Red Flag warning from 6 P.M. Sunday to 10 p.m. Monday.

Meteorologists say we could see wind in the 25 to 40 mile an hour range, adding to the extreme heat.  Inland temperatures could top 110 degrees for the next few days, in what the National Weather Service has called a dangerous, life threatening heat wave.  Humidity could drop to 5-20% in inland areas, amplifying the fire danger.

While the heat is predicted to ease next week, Santa Ana Winds could create extended brush fire danger in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Tuesday through Thursday.
