Sewage Line Break On South Coast Dumps Waste Onto Ground, Into Ocean

Crews have been busy cleaning up a sewage spill on the South Coast which dumped waste onto the ground and into the ocean.

It happened Monday afternoon, on the 4900 block of the Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura.  The Ventura Regional Sanitation District reported a sewage pipeline break near the coast, which led to a nearly one thousand gallon spill.

Some of the sewage seeped into the ground, and some flowed into the ocean.  The ground area was cleaned.  Because of the contamination, signs have been posted warning to stay out of the ocean in the area for the next few days.
