Authorities are investigating the death of a Ventura County Jail inmate.
Deputies say they discovered Carlos Lozano unconscious in a cell at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura Tuesday morning.
He was the only one in his cell at the time.
Deputies started to provide first aid, as did jail medical personnel. Paramedics arrived to provide more advanced medical care, but were unable to revive the 20 year old Camarillo man. An autopsy is pending.
