The coronavirus death toll continues to grow on the Central and South Coasts, with a 28th death.

Ventura County health officials say a man in his 50’s is the 19th coronavirus related death in the county.  Santa Barbara County has had eight, and San Luis Obispo County one.  Most of the deaths involved people over 50 with preexisting health conditions.

There are now 1263 diagnosed coronavirus cases in the region.  Ventura County has 559 cases, Santa Barbara County 509, San Luis Obispo County 196.

Most Ventura and Santa Barbara County beaches are open today, with limitations.  People can walk, run, swim, and surf on Ventura County’s beaches, but they can’t sit and sunbathe.  County officials say compliance was good Saturday.

Santa Barbara County beaches are open, but social distancing is required.  Parking has been restricted in coastal areas of both counties to limit out of town visitors.
