Central, South Coasts Now Have 136 Coronavirus Cases; No New Deaths Reported

The latest update on the number of coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts now stands at 136 people diagnosed with the virus. There are 54 confirmed cases in San Luis Obispo County. Ventura County is reporting 50, and Santa Barbara County 32. Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties released updated numbers Thursday afternoon, while Ventura County hasn’t done its daily update yet.

No new deaths have been reported. There was one death last week in Ventura County.

While the number of diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts has continued to grow, so far it hasn't created capacity problems for area hospitals. Less then a dozen people were reported to be in local hospitals today due to coronavirus.

But, hospitals are geared up, and ready to go if there is a surge in serious cases. Many of the hospitals in the region already have outdoor triage tents set up to handle large numbers of patients should there be a surge in coronavirus cases.
