Two Ventura County Restaurant Owners Arrested On Arson And Insurance Fraud Charges

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they’ve arrested the owners of two restaurants on arson charges. In October of 2018, Ventura County firefighters responded to an early morning fire at a Moorpark shopping plaza. They quickly put out the fire at the Moorpark Marketplace, but fire sprinklers caused more than $100,000 in damage.

Sheriff’s detectives and Ventura County Fire Department investigators established the rooftop blaze was intentionally set. They determined that two restaurant owners in the plaza set the blaze. Harry Kulakjian of Sherman Oaks and Issa Khoury of Northridge are now facing arson, conspiracy, and insurance fraud charges.
