On Tuesday night, it was a brushfire which had forced 30,000 people from their homes in eastern Ventura County.
All evacuation orders were lifted Thursday. Friday, what was called the “Easy” fire is 80% contained. Two homes were lost in the 1900 acre fire in the Simi Valley area.
Mopup efforts are so complete that less than a dozen firefighters are still on patrol for hot spots.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, Southern California Edison officials notified state reglators that they had a malfunction with some of their equipment near Simi Valley's East Street, where the fire is believed to have started.
