Authorities Find Source Of Disturbing Social Media Posts About Borderline Attack; No Charges Planned

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they’ve solved the mystery behind some disturbing social media posts about the Borderline Bar and Grill rampage, but that there was no legal basis for criminal charges.

Investigators say a string of posts inferred last November’s attack which left 12 people dead was connected to a foreign militant group. They say while the posts were disturbing and insensitive there was no direct threat, and that no laws were violated.

Detectives say while the Thousand Oaks man isn’t facing charges for the social media posts, he is charged with being under the influence of drugs.
