Man Gets 60 Years To Life For Ventura County Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

A Ventura County man has been sentenced to 60 years to life in prison for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman. Prosecutors say in June of 2013, David Romero climbed through the bedroom window of a woman he had dated, and dragged her away from her home. They say he forced her to drive to an isolated area, where he sexually assaulted and beat her.

She was pregnant at the time with Romero’s child. The Ventura man was convicted of rape, and three other charges. In the past, he had been convicted of stalking, and threatening another woman he had dated.
