Man Who Died After Exchange Of Gunfire With Police In Santa Barbara Had Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Authorities are still trying to sort out the detail of an officer involved shooting case in Santa Barbara County which ended with the death of the suspect. Just released autopsy results show that Francisco Anthony Alcaraz died from multiple gunshot wounds.

On Tuesday, Santa Barbara police serving a warrant at an apartment off of Camino De Vida, and Turnpike Road were met by gunfire. There was an exchange of shots, and then a standoff which led to the lockdown of a nearby school, and the closure of Highway 101. A robot was sent into the apartment, and it was determined the 32 year old man was dead. No one else was hurt.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and State Department Of Justice detectives are handling the investigation.
