Unique South Coast Film Fest Festival Focuses On Art And Architecture

A one of a kind film festival is taking place on the South Coast this weekend, called “Art-Architecture On Film.” Roman Baratiak is co-curator of the weekend long event, which is hosted by UC Santa Barbara’s Arts and Lectures.

He says while some of the films are available via streaming services, the hope is the festival will bring together people interested in art, and architecture for a communal experience.

Screenings take place all day Saturday and Sunday at Santa Barbara’s Paseo Nuevo Theater. The offerings include Bauhaus Spirit, Burden, Kusama: Infinity, Obey Giant, Great Expectations, Leaning Into the Wind: Andy Goldsworthy REM, and Faces Places.

Some of the films being shown were hard to get, because many films are now locked up for streaming, and can’t be shown theatrically.  You can find a link to the complete lineup for the Art-Architecture film festival here.
