A photographer who took iconic images of everyone from Jimmy Hendrix and "The Doors" to some American presidents has died at his Ventura County home.

Guy Webster's career spanned a half century.

His father was an Academy Award winning music lyricist, so Webster grew up in Beverly Hills surrounded by music legends.  While in the military, he took up photography, and developed a reputation for his work shooting record album covers.

Later, he was in demand for photographing celebrities, and even presidents.  Webster eventually bought a ranch in Ojai.  He died there, following a battle with cancer.  Webster was 79 years old.
