Ventura County Airports Director Identified As Man Found Dead In Vehicle At Camarillo Airport

Ventura County Sheriff’s officials say the body of a man found in a car involved in a crash at Camarillo Airport is that of the County Airports Director.

The incident happened at about seven Thursday  morning, on the west side of the airport. The vehicle was burning when firefighters reached the scene. It was in an area which was restricted from public access.

County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Eric Buschow says the circumstances surrounding what happened are still under investigation, but confirms that the man who died was Airports Director Todd McNamee

The 52 year old man had been with the county since 2001, and became the County Airports Director in 2005. He was nationally known for his work in the field. He served as Secretary/Treasurer of the American Association of Airport Executives from 2016 to 2017.
