Stae Insurance Officials In Montecito Saturday To Help Thomas Fire, Debris Flow Victims

Victims of the Thomas Fire, and Santa Barbara County flooding will be able to get some help with insurance claims questions.

The State Department of Insurance is going to have representatives on hand at the Montecito Center for Preparedness, Recovery, and Rebuilding from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

They’ll talk one on one with people on a first come, first served basis. Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones has cautioned insurance companies that the state considers the 1/9 debris flow in Montecito a part of the impacts of the Thomas Fire. He says even if someone doesn’t have flood insurance, they should be protected through fire insurance.

The center is located on 1283 Coast Village Circle, which is just a half block off of Coast Village Road.
