Man Struck, Killed By Passenger Train In Santa Barbara County

Investigators say a man is dead after being hit by a passenger train in Santa Barbara County.

The man was walking on the railroad tracks near Eucalyptus Lane at Miramar Avenue in Montecito just after 10 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by a northbound Amtrak train. Crew members say they activated the train’s horn and whistles, but the man didn’t respond.

The train was unable to stop before hitting the man. His name hasn’t been released yet.
