A vapor cloud from an idle gas well site in Ventura County prompted the shutdown of some streets, and businesses in an industrial area outside of Ventura.
Ventura County authorities were notified at around 8 a.m. Thursday about a visible vapor cloud near Shell Road and Ventura Avenue. Water vapor and methane gas was detected, but it was below hazardous levels.
No home evacuations were ordered.
