Ventura County Jail Inmate Who Died In Custody This Week Now Being Identified

A jail inmate who died in Ventura County this week is now being identified. Mary Dakos was discovered to be unresponsive when deputies were serving breakfast at Ventura County’s Todd Road Jail Wednesday morning. Jail medical personnel, and paramedics were unsuccessful in efforts to revive her, and she was pronounced dead at the jail. The 64 year old woman had been booked into the jail system last Sunday on drug related charges, and was there for three nights before her death. Officials say they hope an autopsy will help determine what occurred.
