COVID-19 Case Count On Central, South Coasts Continues To Drop, But 29 Additional Deaths Reported

Public health officials say we are seeing big progress in the battle against COVID-19 on the Central and South Coasts, with some of the lowest new case numbers in months.

383 additional cases were reported in the region Thursday.  Ventura County had 169, Santa Barbara County 153, and San Luis Obispo County 61.  It brings the region’s total since the start of the pandemic to just over 123,600.

But, the latest daily death toll is once again very high.  29 deaths were reported in the Tri-Counties Thursday, with 18 in Ventura County, eight in Santa Barbara County, and three in San Luis Obispo County.

The total number of deaths in the three counties related to the virus since the start of the pandemic now stands at 1285.
