More Than 4,000 New COVID-19 Cases Reported On Central, South Coasts Over Holiday Weekend


The COVID-19 surge continues on the Central and South Coasts, with more than 4000 new cases reported over the four-day holiday weekend period.

Ventura County had more than 3100 cases from Friday through Monday.  Santa Barbara County had 819, and San Luis Obispo County 68.  The region’s total since the start of the pandemic tops the 62,000 mark.

16 additional COVID-related deaths were reported on the Central and South Coasts.   There have been 467 deaths in the region, with 244 in Ventura County, 153 in Santa Barbara County and 70 in San Luis Obispo County.
