Central, South Coast Health Officials Say Flu Shots Essential To Prevent Double Whammy With COVID-19

Public Health officials are ramping up efforts on the Central and South Coasts to get people vaccinated against influenza.  They say that large numbers of flu cases could put an added strain on the region's health care system, especially if it comes at the same time as a surge in COVID-19 cases.

They are saying that in a backwards way, the coronavirus crisis may help keep flu numbers lower the usual this season.  Because most people are wearing masks, and social distancing, it will reduce the spread of the flu.
