Central Coast University Requiring Students Living On Campus For Fall Quarter To Get COVID-19 Test

A Central Coast university is going to require all students living on campus to get a COVID-19 test 72 hours before arriving at school.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is opening its housing facilities to about 5100 students for its fall quarter, which begins September 14th.  Students will be housed by themselves, without roommates.  Most of the students living on campus will be first year students.  They are encouraging students who live off campus to get tested, but aren’t requiring it.

The university is offering the majority of its classes through remote instruction, but just over 10% will be in person.

Cal Poly officials say they are working with students to insure they get tested, and test negative before they arrive in San Luis Obispo.
