Number Of Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Approaching 2200

CV_2.JPEG

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts is approaching the 2200 mark, with more than a third of them linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.

The total stands at 2194 cases.

Santa Barbara County is reporting 1308 cases, Ventura County 666, and San Luis Obispo County 220.  More than 800 of Santa Barbara County’s cases are linked to the prison complex.

There are difference in the numbers that the county is reporting, and the numbers reported by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Ventura County didn’t release updated numbers Sunday, so we won’t get a complete fix on the county’s latest numbers until Monday afternoon.  There are 31 deaths reported in the region, most of which are linked to older adults with preexisting health conditions.
