Total Number of Diagnosed Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Approaching 950
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts is approaching 950.
The latest numbers show 948 cases overall. There are 422 in Ventura County, 394 in Santa Barbara County, and 132 in San Luis Obispo County. There have been 18 deaths in the region, including 13 in Ventura County, four in Santa Barbara County, and one in San Luis Obispo County.
The largest outbreak in the region continues to be one at the federal prison complex in Lompoc, where more than 80 inmates, and 30 staff members have tested positive for the virus. One inmate has died. The prison and Santa Barbara County public health officials are working to set up a field hospital at the scene.
