Pop-up Food Pantries Set For South Coast

Some pop-up drive through food pantries will begin operation on the South Coast this week.  FOOD SHARE Ventura County is hosting the events in Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, Ojai, Santa Paula, and Camarillo.

They are for low income families.  People must have an ID or proof of residence, and must live in the city where the distribution is taking place.

The first events will take place in Oxnard Wednesday from 3-5 p.m.  They will be at the Oxnard PAL Teen Center, on K Street; Colonia Village, on Camino Del Sol; and Garden City Acres Park.  They are drive-thru events only, with food limited to one box per family on a first-come, first served basis.

On Thursday, FOOD SHARE will host a similar event in Thousand Oaks.  It will take place from 12-2 p.m. in Conejo Creek Park South.

There are food distributions planned for next week in multiple communities.

On Monday, there will be one at the Ventura County Fairgrounds from 12-2 p.m.  There will be one from 12-2 Monday in Ojai, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, and also on Monday from 3-5 p.m. in Santa Paula at the Old Ford dealership.   Next Tuesday, April 7th, there will be one in Camarillo's Freedom Park from 12-2 p.m.
